When arranging an activity for a group, there are always lots of considerations to be made. The choice of things to do in the area can seem endless, and decision making is often very daunting. There can be so many demands based on the size of the group and the ages and interests of its individual members.
This is where we, the teams at local Tourist Information offices, can lend a hand. Together we can plan daily itineraries, coordinate and reserve accommodation and visits to local places of interest. That way, there will be no need to carry cash during your stay either!
Below are two suggested itineraries for summer and winter:
Suggestion for Summer
Have you always wanted to give your group something very special? Look no further than a trip up to the Löckernsee - a small mountain lake and natural gem. Travel in comfort from Gosau by Bummelzug (land train) to approx. 1400 metres above sea level. The trip up through the woods and the stunning panoramic views create the perfect mood for the rest of the excursion.
Upon arrival we set off on a guided walk to the wild, romantic Löckernmoos high mountain moorland and the little Löckernsee lake. „Löckern“ are mountain pines which surround this place of happiness. The surrounding mountains are magnificent, and from here you have the most stunning views of the Gosaukamm mountain range. Your hiking guide will be with you all along the way and can tell you all about the unique wildlife and vegetation of the area, and lots more besides. After completing this circular trail and before boarding the land train for the return trip to the valley, the gritstone quarriers‘ huts are a charming place to stop off and enjoy a rest. The trip can also be extended with a tour of the gritstone quarries.
Suggestion for Winter
This frosty time of year has a special charm when you spend time relaxing in a rustic mountain hut with a group of friends. Relax in a warm, cosy room and enjoy local food specialities. Perhaps you will choose Bradl in Rein (traditional meat dish) following a curling competition, or otherwise a delicious and rewarding snack after hiking up to the hut at the top of a toboggan run, before racing back down to the valley.
Beneath a clear, star lit sky there are now night- time horse-drawn sledge rides available in Gosau. Alternatively, you might choose an escorted snow shoeing tour on the Krippenstein in Obertraun.
We did tell you there was lots on offer!
