**A place of joy surrounded by silent nature and tranquility.**
Right in the middle of the "[**Löckenmoos circular trail**](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich/poi/430002173/gluecksplatz-loeckenmoos.html)" is the **lucky spot** "**Wildfrauenloch**", above the [**Gosau grindstone quarries**](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich/poi/430009495/gluecksplatz-schleifsteinbrueche.html).**The wild virgins**

This name originates from a **legend** - once upon a time, wild (wild here means "shy" or "timid") virgins lived in a crevice on the Vordere Grubalm - the so-called "**Wildfrauenloch**". There they hung their laundry out to dry in the sun. They came down to the valley to help the farmers with their work when the grain was being cut.
**The Löckenmoos - the place for meditation**

The entire [**Löckenmoos** ](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich/poi/430002173/gluecksplatz-loeckenmoos.html)with the small **Löckensee lake** in its romantic location at **around 1,400 m**, in the middle of a **high moor**, could actually be described as a **place of happiness** .
The area is a **perfect place for meditation** as it is so remote and completely peaceful. Lie down, open your eyes and watch the clouds floating in the sky. You will notice the birdsong and feel the gentle wind. Feel the energy of the thousands of centuries-old moorland below you. Sink deep into its mossy cushion as you immerse yourself in nature. The **Löckensee** is the perfect place to **revitalize body and soul** and is located on the 10,000-year-old Löckenmoos, high above the quarries of Gosau, surrounded by mountain pines and moorland vegetation.

**Accessibility / arrival****The cave "Wildfrauenloch" is situated in the high moor "Löckermoos" in Gosau at Dachstein. This can be reached by a few hiking trails or with the Gosau land train.

**from Salzburg:**
Motorway exit Golling via B162 Abtenau and B166 to Gosau
**from Linz:**
Motorway exit Regau on Salzkammergut street B145 towards Gmunden and Bad Ischl to Bad Goisern, in Bad Goisern turn right onto B166, at the Gosaumühle junction turn right towards Gosau
**from Vienna/Graz:**
Motorway exit Liezen on the B320, in Trautenfels turn on Salzkammergut street B145 to Bad Aussee, turn on Koppen street through Obertraun and Hallstatt, at the Gosaumühle junction turn left towards Gosau
**from Villach:**
Tauern motorway to exit “Eben im Pongau”, via the B166 Pass Gschütt federal road to Gosau
