since 03.12.2024 Description: From **December 3, 2024**, the footpath into the Hallstatt high valley will be closed until the opening of the Salzberg cable car in 2026.
Safe access is no longer possible due to weather conditions.

back to the 1st millennium BC takes only a few minutes. The **Salzberg cable car** takes you comfortably up to the Hallstatt high valley. The **panoramic lift** and bridge continue to the **restaurant** and **viewing platform**. The free-floating **skywalk** is 360 meters above the UNESCO World Heritage town of **[Hallstatt](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/en/hallstatt.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata)** and offers the unique world heritage view of the historic town center, the lake and the **[Dachstein Salzkammergut](http://www.dachstein-salzkammergut.at/en?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata)** region. Alternatively, an old miner's path leads up the 300 meters in altitude. Walking time approx. one hour. Good condition required!
