**Founded in 1623, the Privileged Shooting Club of Gosau is by far the oldest club in the Dachstein community.**

The Privileged Shooting Club of **[Gosau](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/gosau-am-dachstein.html?utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=tourdata)** ends the winter season every year on the **first weekend in April** with its **annual shooting competition**. The traditional club chooses its **shooting kings** with the air rifle.
Anyone who is familiar with shooting in the Salzkammergut knows that customs have been preserved here.
Craftsmanship, tradition and customs
------------------------------------
Preserving **old crafts**, **customs** and **traditions** is important to the locals in Gosau, Bad Goisern, Obertraun and Hallstatt.
In Hallstatt, the **Corpus Christi procession on Lake Hallstatt** is a well-known custom, in Obertraun there is the so-called **"Oaradln",** in Bad Goisern the **old crafts,** e.g. at the Goiserer shoemaker, are still practiced, in Gosau the annual **sheep culling & alpine pasture cattle drives** are still carried out.
