Bad Goisern is known for its handicrafts - from the world-famous Goiserer Schuh, the Hand.Werk.Haus Salzkammergut to violin makers and the mustard manufacturer Annamax. Another highlight in the field of handicrafts was the soap maker Zopf in Kirchengasse at the old market square.

The historical workshop of the soap maker

There are guided tours through the old workshop of soap makers who used to work in Bad Goisern. At the moment, the tours are only upon request, starting in May 2024, the tours are on a regular basis and include a special exhibition named:

SOAP- THE CLEAN SALT OF THE SALZKAMMERGUT AREA

After an exciting journey through the history of soap, all guest receive a piece of handmade soap. Your host and guide, Karina Wimmer, is a soap maker herself and in her Salzkammergut based soap business Saponetta Carina she makes handcrafted soaps with local ingredients.

The soap factory Saponetta Carina is located at the old market square in Bad Goisern. There are parking spaces in front of the Fleischerei Zauner. These are for public usage.

Guided tours of the workshop rooms are available by appointment. Duration of the tour is about 1 hour incl. soap self-marking. € 15.00 per person up to max. 8 persons.
