Nestled in the mountains and lakes of the Dachstein Salzkammergut region, the small village enchants visitors with its unique traditional charm.** Hallstatt is the archaeological heart of the World Heritage region. The oldest salt mine in the world is located here. The historic town center exudes a unique flair with its promenade right on the shores of Lake Hallstatt.Visitors from all over the world are drawn to Hallstatt to experience the unique original sites of this special place. The houses situated between the lake and the mountain give the village its unmistakable panorama. The high valley with the Hallstatt Salt Worlds tells of thousands of years of salt mining and history.
