From the hut, you can reach the **glacier forefield** in just a few minutes, where a **glacier nature trail** has been set up in recent years. Now an hour's walk away, you can reach the **first glacier tongues** of the Dachstein glacier, which are constantly accompanied by thundering meltwater. Friends of **climbing** can try their hand at [**Klettergarten Schreiberwand**](https://www.adamek.at/images/topos_schall/Schreiberwd-KG-Schall.pdf) or the alpine classics of the **Schneebergwand** up to the **Dachstein**. Parking lot at the Vorderer Gosausee.** **By car from Salzburg:** Highway exit Golling - Abtenau, Rußbach, Gosau Gosau: after the Pass Gschütt junction, turn right onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 7 km you will reach the Gosausee. **From Linz:** Regau highway exit - Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern, Gosau Gosau: at the Pass Gschütt junction, drive straight ahead onto the Gosausee Landstraße, then after approx. 7 km you will reach Lake Gosau. **from Vienna/Graz:** Liezen highway exit onto B320, in Trautenfels turn onto Salzkammergut Straße B145 to Bad Aussee, turn onto Koppenstraße through Obertraun and Hallstatt, at the Gosaumühle junction turn left towards Gosau Gosau: at the Pass Gschütt junction, drive straight ahead onto the Gosausee Landstraße, then after approx. 7 km you will reach Lake Gosau. **from Villach:** Tauernautobahn to exit "Eben im Pongau", via B166 Pass Gschütt Bundesstraße to Gosau Gosau: after the Pass Gschütt junction, turn right onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 7 km you will reach Lake Gosau. **By train** Route Attnang-Puchheim - Stainach-Irdning Arrival by train in "Steeg / Gosau" then continue by bus 541 in the direction of Gosaumühle, change to bus 542 in the direction of Lake Gosau **By bus (Sundays irregular):** Bus 470 (Abtenau - Gosau) direction Gosau, bus stop Gosau Abzw.
