Grandma's vanilla croissant recipe - classic

What would Christmas be without the pleasure of delicious biscuits? As a child, was there anything more beautiful during Advent than the scent of grandma's fresh biscuits?

In Grandma's cookbook we found a traditional vanilla croissant recipe. Easy and quick to bake, with a great effect on your children and friends. Good luck!

These ingredients you need

  • 300g flour
  • 250g butter
  • 100g powdered sugar
  • 100g peeled, finely grated almonds
  • vanilla pod and powdered sugar

This is how you make vanilla croissants

Prepare a shortcrust pastry from flour, butter, icing sugar and almonds. It can be prepared by hand or with a food processor.

Let it rest in the fridge for 1 hour!

Form long, approx. 1 cm thick rolls. Cut them into approx. 5 cm long pieces. Form the croissants from them, place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for about 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 170°. The baking time and temperature can vary slightly depending on the oven.

Who has problems with the forming of the croissants, finds below a video guidance with which the croissants gets guaranteed a beautiful form.

Cut the vanilla pod along the middle and mix the inside with the powdered sugar. Sprinkle the still hot croissants with the vanilla-dust sugar mixture.

Have fun baking and snacking biscuits!
