Holidays at Youth Hostel Gosauschmied
Enjoy your holiday in our house, where even Emperor Franz Josef spent his holidays. We offer twin rooms with shower, toilet and TV and multi-bed rooms with bunk beds, shower and toilet.
Our youth guesthouse is suitable for school ski weeks, school country weeks, music seminars, but also for private guests or families who prefer simple, low-priced but clean accommodation.
In summer we are the perfect starting point for many hikes and mountain bike tours. The via ferrata is only a few minutes walk away.
In winter we are the perfect starting point for winter activities. We are only a few minutes away from the popular skiing area Dachstein West. The bus stop for the free ski bus is in the immediate vicinity. The cross-country ski trail is located behind our hotel, which is opposite our youth guesthouse.

Motorway exit Regau - Gmunden - Bad Ischl - Bad Goisern - Gosau
Gosau: at the Pass - Gschütt junction, turn off onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 5km you will find the youth hostel on the left-hand side.
from Vienna/Graz:
Motorway exit Liezen on the B320, in Trautenfels turn on Salzkammergut street B145 to Bad Aussee, turn on Koppen street through Obertraun and Hallstatt, at the Gosaumühle junction turn left towards Gosau
Gosau: at the Pass - Gschütt junction, turn off onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 5km you will find the youth hostel on the left-hand side.
from Villach:
Tauern motorway to exit “Eben im Pongau”, via the B166 Pass Gschütt federal road to Gosau
Gosau: after the Pass - Gschütt junction turn right onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 5km you will reach the youth hostel on the left-hand side.

Arrival by train in "Steeg / Gosau" then continue with bus 541/542 in the direction Gosausee
By bus (irregularly on Sundays):
Bus 470 (Abtenau - Gosau) direction Gosau, stop Gosau Abzw. Pass Gschütt
change to the bus direction Gosausee (Lake Gosau), get off at the bus stop "Hintertal b.Gosau Schmiedweg". The youth hostel is on the left side of the road.
