Yes, he must always be there - a human's best friend - the dog. Especially on holidays you want to spend time with your dog and take him with you wherever possible. This is why there is hardly a place in the Holiday Region Dachstein Salzkammergut that cannot be visited with a dog.
Our hiking trails are ideal for dogs and even at our lakes dogs are welcome bathers. In winter the snow awakens the desire to play while one walks with the owner in snowshoes to the 5fingers or undertakes a comfortable ski tour.
So much nature experiences as in the Dachstein Salzkammergut dogs rarely see anwhere else.
In general: Within the town signs of Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt, Gosau at Dachstein, Hallstatt and Obertraun you must keep your dog on a leash or your dog must carry a muzzle. Outside the town signs the following regulations apply (only available in German: on all coloured lines on the maps the same regulations as within the town signs apply):
In our cables cars, your dog is very welcome! There is only one rule: muzzle and leash!
Transport with your dog in the region
You think with dog you always need a car to get from one place to another. Wrong thought! In the Holiday Region Dachstein Salzkammergut all public means of transport are available for humans as well as for dogs! You only have to think of two things: muzzle and leash. Whether by train or bus, in the cable car or gondola, in the Gosau land train or at a boat trip at Lake Hallstatt, dogs are welcome everywhere!
