The Mühlbach is a small but lovely stream in Bad Goisern for gifted
fly fishermen who appreciate the beauty of nature and the art of fly fishing
.
With a length of 2.7 km, a width of up to 10 m, and a depth of up to 2 m,
the Mühlbach is a tributary fed by the Goiserer Traun.
Rainbow trout make up the majority of the fish population, but brown trout,
char, and grayling.
The Goiserer Mühlbach is managed by the Mühlbach–Bad Goisern Fly Fishing Club,
under the leadership of Chairman Alexander Putz. The Mühlbach is a tributary of the
Goiser Traun, which is regulated by a system of locks and therefore has a very
stable flow.
With its steady current and clear water, the Mühlbach is sure to
of any fly fisherman.
The abundant food supply supports a thriving population of wild
rainbow trout.
The clear water requires precise presentation of the dry fly as well as
accurate casts.
In addition to the fishing itself, the picturesque landscape and the charm of the
Mühlbach add to its charm.
The Mühlbach is carefully managed and offers an unforgettable
fly-fishing experience.
Fishing is permitted exclusively with artificial flies and barbless hooks
. Wading is prohibited.
