Come and visit the pre-Christmas evening services with candlelight and music in the small catholic church in St. Agatha near Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt.
Every year as Christmas approaches, these contemplative evening services take place in a cozy atmosphere at the St. Agatha Chapel —located southeast of the Goiserer Valley.
From the start of Advent through Candlemas, you can also view the illuminated, lovingly crafted Goiserer landscape nativity scene —created by the Goiserer Nativity Scene Builders’ Association —in the foyer of the little church.
Built around 1395, this small, late-Gothic branch church with its onion-domed turret is known for its high altar. Constructed of grotto stone and sandstone, it was embellished with the Calvary scene around 1712.
