Bigband- and Jazzworkshop

Every year, the popular big band and jazz workshop takes place in Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt during the Easter holidays with lecturers from the Pop Department of the Vienna University of Music, the Austrian jazz scene and the Upper Austrian State Music School.

Are you a passionate musician and interested in big band and jazz music?

... then this workshop is the right place for you - jazz experience is not essential!

During this year's Easter vacations , the annual big band and jazz workshop with the Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra will once again take place at the regional music school in Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt .

This music workshop offers you as a participant a comprehensive and appealing learning program over five days.

The aim for you as a musician is to play actively in three big bands at different levels of difficulty and in smaller ensembles.

The following instruments are taught in the course:
Trombone, trumpet & flugelhorn, saxophone (attention waiting list), clarinet, percussion, drums, piano, guitar, violin, bass, jazz vocals and string instruments.

In addition to instrumental lessons, the following additional offers are also possible:
Composition rehearsals, rhythmic training, applied theory, improvisation, ensemble playing in small groups, as well as a special course for singers and musicians on vocal care.

A special feature of this workshop is the evening session at 08:30p.m., as well as the "Beginners Big Band" for motivated young musicians.

28.03.2025 - 06:00 p.m. Youth Jazz Orchestra, followed by the Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra at 07:30 p.m. in Festsaal - The final concert will take place on April 1st at 04:00 p.m.
