Buchinger or alkaline fasting on the Dachstein plateau
Route: Wiesberghaus - Gjaidalm - KrippensteinStarting point: Obertraun, Hallstatt.
The ascent is via a gently ascending bridle path with breathtaking views of the glacier. The route is long, but easily doable and suitable for fast trekking.

Experience a unique fasting and mountain experience on the Dachstein plateau. Our fasting trek is aimed at experienced fasters with many years of alpine experience and good physical fitness.
Program & procedure
- Fasting form: Buchinger or alkaline fasting possible
- Prerequisite: Start fasting at home in advance to make the most of your time in the mountains
- Starting point: Gjaidalm base campTour: 3-day high alpine hut tour, 7-8 hours a day in good weather (net walking time approx. 4 hours)
- Comfort: luggage transport to the hut, partial descent by gondola
- Accommodation: Overnight stay in huts (hut sleeping bag required)Number of participants: 6-10 people

Participation fees & accommodation - Fast trekking Dachstein plateau
The 7-day fast trekking guide incl. hiking guide, fasting accompaniment and organization regularly costs € 595, Early Birds* € 495, regular hikers** € 395.
Accommodation, meals, transfers and luggage transportation: camp 380 €, shared room 478 €, double room 539 €, single room 757 €. Higher room categories possible at the Gjaid Alm, shared rooms at the other huts. Please indicate category preference when registering, limited availability.
Additional costs: Base fasting surcharge € 96, discount for alpine clubs € 23, ggf members € 20, public transport riders € 20.
*Early Bird: 100 € compensation for registration and payment by 30.04.2026
**Regular skier discounts depending on participation history: annually € 100, 2 years ago € 50, longer than 2 years € 25
