This unique violin festival attracts musicians from near and far to make music together.

The joy of music connects young and old, locals and guests.

The ever-popular "Geigen Dischgu" is not just a celebration of traditional folk music, typical of this region, but of many other types including Viennese and Irish. A wonderful opportunity to get together with others in Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt who share the same passion for playing the violin!

Reactions to the event in the past have been very positive, and show us that this type of music draws people together. One lady wrote, "The event was a great success in every aspect." This unique opportunity for people to meet and play music freely and spontaneously together will not be overlooked despite all the other events being organised around the exhibition of rural life.

We cordially invite you to join us when violin and fiddle are played again, always on the first Sunday in September at noon in the Kirchengasse and in the courtyard of the castle Neuwildenstein in Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt. The surrounding innkeepers will take care of your physical well-being!

The occasion is also a great way for children to discover some of our local craftsmanship and join in all the fun!

Enjoy the atmosphere at the violin festival. When the weather is not that good, the musicians still play in the restaurants in Bad Goisern.
