Familux Resort Dachsteinkönig****s

Probably the most exciting and innovative family hotel is located in Gosau (Upper Austria): the Familux resort Dachsteinkönig****s.

Behind the project, with which the family hotel business has reached a new level, are real professionals: Ernst Mayer and his family have been setting milestones for years in terms of "exclusive holidays for young and old". Also in the 2 further hotels of the family Mayer, the Familux resort Alpenrose****S / Leermoos and the Children's hotel Oberjoch**** / Bad Hindelang , the vacation with the family stands in the first place. In Gosau at Dachstein they built a new one on the highest possible level: the Familux resort Dachsteinkönig ****S.

Off the wall

The brochure for the Familux Resort Dachsteinkönig reads "Oh man, Daddy, come up with something new." In fact, even families who have already experienced a lot will discover an unprecedented holiday resort in Gosau at Dachstein.

A children's hotel must also meet high aesthetic standards. The Mayer family aim to achieve all this in building the Dachsteinkönig. "We want to convey not only to the parents, but especially to our children the importance of creativity, beauty, aesthetics and comfort, and conjure up a welcoming atmosphere, so that everybody in the family is left happy from the moment they arrive," says hotel director Florian Mayer. Therefore, a classy family paradise is being built. 105 family suites and twelve chalet units (single and double chalets with their own panoramic sauna) put exclusive state-of-the-art living conditions at families' disposal in the Dachsteinkönig. All of the suites include their own nursery and luxury facilities for all ages.

XXL Children's World

Babies and children from the age of one week onwards are cared for by professionals. 20 trained childminders - mostly kindergarten teachers - are responsible for running the baby club (0-1 years), the Krabbelclub (1-2 years), the Mini Club (3-5 years), the Maxi Club (6-11 years) and the teen club (12-16 years) available seven days a week, between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. The indoor play area is a sensational 2.000 m². A cinema and theatre, a soft play area on two floors, a gymnastics hall, indoor go-karts and much more go well beyond the children's wildest dreams. The "craziest" facility is probably the 100-metre-long waterslide in the bathing area with numerous pools and attractions. Outdoors, children can enjoy a huge area with bouncy castle, adventure playground, Bobby Car trail, petting zoo and many more unforgettable adventures.

Holidays for parents aswell

For grown-ups there is a 1.000 m² wellness and sauna area with luxurious SPA, which is perfect for relaxation in peace and quiet. "A holiday can only be classed as a family holiday if it is perfect for adults as well as the children" states Ernst Mayer. In Gosau there are 11 treatment rooms offering massage, spa and beauty treatments, as well as an ayurvida clinic. Ägyptos, Ligne St. Barth and Maria Galland will be the quality products used in the SPA. In addition, there will be six different saunas, an exterior panoramic sauna, relaxation room, relaxation area with juice bar, small swimming pool, fitness room, indoor golf simulator, and much more.

Fable: Little Godai and his friends

Much can be told about the Dachsteinkönig - from whom the Familux resort got its name. According to the legend, he enchanted the pitiless dairy maids up on the high mountain pasture who refused weary hikers food and rest. Only a young lad, who had never told a lie, with a black bull and a black cockerel can redeem them. Was that Godai and his friends? Young explorers will encounter them at the Familux resort Dachsteinkönig. Families spend exciting holidays in a fabulous landscape at the foot of the Dachstein overlooking the Gosaukamm. Just 100 metres away lies the cable car to the Dachstein West ski resort, which is the largest ski area in Upper Austria with 142 kilometres of piste. The new fun slopes, the so-called 'Brumsi-Land' for children, guaranteed snow and plenty of cosy cabins make it perfect for the whole family. The 50-kilometre-long cross-country trail makes many skier's hearts beat even faster. Even in summer, the mountains offer much. Adventurers roam the primeval forest and the idyllic pastures lure hikers. The Dachstein and the Gosaukamm are a paradise for climbers and mountain bikers. The new Dachsteinkönig is situated just an hour's drive from Salzburg, two hours from Munich and three hours from Vienna.
