The Blaschekwarte in Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt is located above the high trail on the Ewige Wand and invites you to take a leisurely break with breathtaking views of the Goisern valley.

The Blaschekwarte - a popular vantage point

The Blaschekwarte, which was rebuilt in June 1990, is located above the high trail on the Ewige Wand and is a popular excursion destination, as you are rewarded with a wonderful view of the Goiserer Valley .

You can drive along the toll-free panoramic road to the Rathlucken Hütte. From there, the Blaschekwarte can be easily reached in around 30 to 45 minutes on foot .

The lookout owes its name to Leopold Blaschek, who came to Bad Goisern around 1897. Hired as a forest warden, he was appointed to the rank of Imperial Forest Warden III class by decree of the Gmunden Forestry Department on 25.08.1903. Forester III. class. He died at the age of 48 on 18.08.1915 and was buried in the catholic cemetery in Bad Goisern.

Hike to the Blaschekwarte

The hike to the Blaschekwarte starts at the parking lot of the Rathlucken Hütte. From here, you walk along the 1.5 km long high-altitude and legend trail into the forest past 7 stations where stories from the past of the Inner Salzkammergut and matching carved figures await you. At the end of the forest, you will reach the cliffs of the Ewige Wand. Here you take the path, secured with wire rope railings, through the 2 tunnels to a first vantage point. The ascent into the forest towards Blaschekwarte begins on the right. Following the signposts, you will reach the Blaschekwarte after a 15-minute walk.

From the lookout point, you can now continue towards the Predigstuhl summit or take the path back via the Höhen- und Sagenweg trail. Alternatively, follow the path back to the first viewpoint and follow the signposts towards Anzenau.

Accessibility / arrival

You can drive to the Rathlucken Hütte by car. At the traffic circle on the B 145 in Bad Goisern, take the turn-off towards Predigstuhl and then follow the signs to Rathlucken Hütte on the toll-free panoramic road. From here, walk along the hiking trail towards the Ewige Wand. After the Ewige Wand, you reach a turn-off towards Blaschekwarte.

From Salzburg:
Exit Thalgau via the B158 federal highway towards Bad Ischl, in Bad Ischl take the B145 Salzkammergut road towards Bad Goisern
from Linz:
Regau highway exit onto Salzkammergut Straße B145 in the direction of Gmunden and Bad Ischl to Bad Goisern
from Vienna/Graz:
Highway exit Liezen on B320, in Trautenfels turn onto Salzkammergut Straße B145 to Bad Goisern
from Villach:
Tauernautobahn to exit "Eben im Pongau", via B166 Pass Gschütt Bundesstraße through Gosau, turn left at the Gosaumühle junction towards Bad Goisern
