There are, in total, ca. 40 km of cross country skiing trails in the broad Goisern valley. The trails are of appeal to both beginners and experienced cross country skiers.
The elevated trail by the Predigstuhl (1.000m) is very popular.
The circular cross country trails are described as being easy to challenging in terms of difficulty, and there are stunning views across the Goisern valley towards Lake Hallstatt and mountain Dachstein.
Please take 6,5 km long, toll-free, panoramic road up to the "Höhenloipe" and you will find an information board with the cross country trails clearly indicated at the car park next to Lesehotel.
One of the most prominent features along the way is an impressive hanging bridge which was constructed as link to the "Flohwiesenschleife" trail.

Accessibility / arrivalYou can reach the high-altitude trails in the Predigstuhl cross-country skiing area from the traffic circle in Bad Goisern via the 6.5 km long, toll-free panoramic road via Lasern and Wurmstein in the direction of Predigstuhl.
Winter tires are a basic requirement in the winter months, snow chains are recommended on snowy roads.
