Up to 25th October 1601, the inhabitants of the local salt-mining villages sought to celebrate their religious beliefs and to protect them right up to the last minute. As such they held meetings and worshipped in secret locations. Translations of the religious scriptures by Martin Luther were indispensable, and preaching by mouth was not enough. And so these bibles were smuggled from the Nuremberg area in Germany via the former "Bibelweg" (the way of the bible) to Austria. The route is known today as the Austriaweg.
The "Kalmoos church" is one of the many locations where secret services of religious worship were held. The people of Gosau and Bad Goisern had to walk for more than two hours high in to the mountains.
Thousands of prayers, feelings of desperation, hope and unconditional belief have been witnessed within these rock walls. Sit down in the half light of this cave and think of the energy hidden inside. This is the perfect place to come and discover what exactly it is you are seeking to achieve in life and how you can best reach your aims.
The Kalmoos Church "energy- giving cave" is located directly on the trail from the Goisern hut to the Kalmberg.
A visit to the Goisern hut for refreshments and a brief diversion to the native American's head rock formation, close to the summit of the Kalmberg, are also worthwhile.
