A total of three lakes can be explored in the Hintere Gosautal: the Vordere Gosausee, the Hintere Gosausee and the Gosaulacke in between, which is only visible when the snow melts and during heavy rainfall. This is because the Gosaulacke is filled by the overflowing Hintere Gosausee and then runs into the Vordere Gosausee.
The Gosau lakes are beautifully embedded in the UNESCO World Heritage Hallstatt-Dachstein/ Salzkammergut and enchant not only with the unique panoramic view of the Dachstein and the Gosau glacier, but also with the excellent and crystal-clear drinking water quality.
