A total of three lakes can be explored in the rear Gosau valley: the Lake Gosau, the Upper Lake Gosau and in between the Gosaulacke, which is only visible during snowmelt and heavy rainfall. The reason for that is, that the Gosaulacke is filled by the overflowing of the Upper Lake Gosau and then runs into the Lake Gosau.
The lakes in the rear Gosau valley are beautifully embedded in the UNESCO World Heritage Hallstatt-Dachstein/Salzkammergut and enchant not only with their unique panoramic views of the Dachstein and the Gosau Glacier, but also with their excellent and crystal-clear drinking water quality.
Activities around the Lake Gosau:
Cable car Gosaukamm to the Zwieselalm
Swimming and diving in the Lake Gosau
