The Cäcilienkonzert is the highlight and conclusion of the musical year of the oldest brass band in the Salzkammergut

The brass band of Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt
The band was founded in 1834 with the purpose of "giving the festivities in the village a fitting setting".
The first performance took place at the Corpus Christi festival in 1834, making it the oldest brass band in the Salzkammergut. The brown uniform with felt hat and ostrich feather is derived from Spanish court ceremonial .
The Bürgermusik consists of a total of 50 members and plays on religious occasions (Easter Sunday, Corpus Christi) as well as for secular events (morning pint, honors).
