The Kohlstatt hut in Gosau at Dachstein better known as "Blinkender Hirsch" - is a rustic hut in the front valley of Gosau. Next to the wood stove or on the terrace you can enjoy hearty meals and a small snacks in between.

With its location, the hut is the perfect place to stop for a break in the Vordertal. For example, cool or warm drinks and the excellent pastries during a hike along the Gosaubachweg, give you new strength again.

from Salzburg:
Highway exit Golling - Abtenau, Rußbach, Gosau
Gosau: after the Pass Gschütt junction, turn left onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 3 km you will reach the Blinkender Hirsch on the right-hand side.

from Linz:
Regau highway exit - Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern, Gosau
Gosau: At the beginning of the valley, the Blinkender Hirsch is on the left-hand side.

From Vienna/Graz:
Liezen highway exit onto B320, in Trautenfels turn onto Salzkammergut Straße B145 to Bad Aussee, continue on the B145 towards Bad Goisern, take the B166 ramp to Golling/Gosau/Obertraun/Hallstatt/Bad Goisern-Süd, turn right at the Gosaumühle junction towards Gosau
Gosau: At the beginning of the valley, the Blinkende Hirsch is on the left-hand side.

From Villach:
Tauernautobahn to exit "Eben im Pongau", via B166 Pass Gschütt Bundesstraße to Gosau
Gosau: after the Pass Gschütt junction, turn left onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 3 km you will reach the Blinkender Hirsch on the right-hand side.

By train
Route Attnang-Puchheim - Stainach-Irdning
Arrival by train in "Steeg / Gosau" then continue by bus 541 in the direction of Gosaumühle, change to bus 542 in the direction of Gosausee

By bus (Sundays irregular):
Bus 470 (Abtenau - Gosau) direction Gosau, bus stop Gosau Abzw. Pass Gschütt
Change to the bus in the direction of Gosaumühle (bus stop on the other side of the road), get off at the bus stop "Gosau Bärnausiedlung", after approx. 200 meters you will reach the Blinkender Hirsch on the main road.
