Salzkammergut Krampus Procession
Small and big Krampusse
Each Krampus outfit is different, and each procession has its own distinct features. This is also true of the Children’s Krampus Procession, the first parade to set off from the market square. The event organisers, Bad Goisern’s Voluntary Fire Brigade, welcome each year increasing numbers of groups of costumed „Krampus“ and other evil figures.
Our youngest spectators receive a visit from St Nicholas who brings hundreds of little bags of goodies on his float. These are given out to all the children who have well behaved.
Musical setting
From 4 p.m., visitors can enjoy brass music for advent on the market square, and they can also enjoy delicious punch and traditional food delicacies. At about 5 p.m. the kids krampus procession starts and St. Nicholas marches in. The main event gets underway around approx. 7 p.m. when the first parades of characters enter the market square. The numerous groups are introduced individually before they are „let loose“ on the market square.
