Dachstein Shark

The new attraction on Heilbronn Circular trail is the Dachstein Shark.
The primeval shark is 8 metres long and is one of the attractions on the Krippenstein

Visitor magnet on the Dachstein Krippenstein

The popular photo spot is only a 45 minutes walk along the Heilbronner Circular Trail, away from the mountain station of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car. Brave visitors can climb into the stomach of the giant creature, a view from the mouth of the Dachstein Shark offers fantastic views of the Dachstein glacier. A visit is well worth the effort.

The Dachstein Shark shows, that even the Dachstein massif was covered millions of years ago with sea water and the primeval sharks have lived in this area. The new visitor attraction was built in August 2013. The shark was sunk deep into Lake Hallstatt, and spectacularly „rescued“ from the water a few days later by helicopter and then flown to be at its destination.
