Gun club Gosau

Gosau, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • All weather

Founded in 1623, the Privileged Shooting Club of Gosau is by far the oldest club in the Dachstein community.

A traditional club in Gosau

The Privileged Shooting Club of Gosau ends the winter season every year on the first weekend in April with its annual shooting competition. The traditional club chooses its shooting kings with the air rifle.

Anyone who is familiar with shooting in the Salzkammergut knows that customs have been preserved here.

Craftsmanship, tradition and customs

Preserving old crafts, customs and traditions is important to the locals in Gosau, Bad Goisern, Obertraun and Hallstatt.

In Hallstatt, the Corpus Christi procession on Lake Hallstatt is a well-known custom, in Obertraun there is the so-called "Oaradln", in Bad Goisern the old crafts, e.g. at the Goiserer shoemaker, are still practiced, in Gosau the annual sheep culling & alpine pasture cattle drives are still carried out.

Traditions, crafts and customs that are lived out in everyday life and at events.
