Flexible travel in the Salzkammergut

The Salzkammergut Shuttle as a convenient addition to public transport.

As an ideal complement to the regional rail and bus network, the shuttle also connects more remote districts, excursion destinations and accommodation in Bad Goisern am Hallstättersee, Gosau am Dachstein, Hallstatt and Obertraun – without the need for a car.

Simply call, reserve a seat and come to your desired stop – and your journey can begin. The Salzkammergut Shuttle runs on fixed routes – it's easy and affordable for both guests and locals. In this way, we are working together to contribute to more sustainable mobility in our region – for guests, for all of us, for the Salzkammergut.

This is how it works

1. booking

Call +43 50 422 422 at least 1 hour before departure with active caller ID. If booking at 06:00 a.m., the shuttle must be booked the evening before. Please state the following: Start and destination point, desired departure time, name and number of people.

2. driving

Be on time at the agreed stopping point - the shuttle will pick you up. Pay cash or by card directly to the driver. If you use several routes, there is no need to change buses, only the price increases depending on how many routes you take.

3. arrive and enjoy

Whether Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt, Gosau, Obertraun or Hallstatt - the shuttle will take you there and back again. There are special rates for small groups or families.

Important to know - No substitute!

The Salzkammergut Shuttle complements public transport - it does not replace it.

The following therefore applies:

  • If a regular bus or train runs in an area within 30 minutes, you cannot book a shuttle for this section.
  • The shuttle only runs outside the regular timetable or to stops that are not easily accessible by public transport.

When booking, please check whether your desired section can be travelled by shuttle.

  • Monday to Sunday 06:00 am to 09:00 pm

The Salzkammergut Shuttle serves as a call and shared cab and supplements the existing public transport system. One aim is to minimize private transport and encourage people to switch to buses and trains. During public transport travel times (between 07:00 and 18:00), a shuttle ride between public OÖVV stops is not possible. Details on the timetables and transfer criteria can be found on the website of the Province of Upper Austria and the route planner OOEVV of the Upper Austrian transport companies.
