authentic. real.

It is the feeling of warmth and hospitality that flows through you when you take a seat in a  restaurant in the Dachstein Salzkammergut holiday region! The drinking and eating culture in the Inner Salzkammergut is based on conviviality and good, authentic food. The cozy get-together is one of the Salzkammergutlers favorite pastimes. With every dish that has been cooked with a lot of passion from products from the region, our restaurateurs carry on the culinary legacy into the future of the region. Come by and let your heart warm to you...

Some delicacies have a long past and still today one or the other custom is passed on from generation to generation. Like the "Beugerl/Beigerl" during carnival.

After the work is done, when the fresh hay is dry and stowed away in the barn, there are the so-called "Einheigkrapfen", the main meal for the woodworkers, also called "Holzknechtnockn".

For Christmas, the usual veal sausage is fried and Grandma's vanilla croissants are served as dessert.

On Good Friday, the Protestant holiday, the delicious "Pofesen" are eaten in the Inner Salzkammergut.

According to a legend, the real "Kaiserschmarrn" was cooked for the first time on a mountain pasture in Bad Goisern during the visit of the emperor.

So special dishes characterize a special custom ...all year round!
