The Destination Dachstein Salzkammergut can be reached by by car as well as by public transport.

There are several railway stations in the region that offer a comfortable journey:

• Bad Goisern train station (direct connection to the Salzkammergut railway network)
• Steeg-Gosau railway station (nearest stop for guests travelling to Gosau, with bus connections into the valley)
• Hallstatt train station (located on the opposite side of the lake from Hallstatt, regular ferry connection to the centre)
• Obertraun-Dachsteinhöhlen railway station (ideal starting point for the Dachstein-Krippenstein and the cave worlds)

There are direct train connections from Attnang-Puchheim (with connections from Vienna, Linz and Salzburg). From there, the Salzkammergut railway (direction Bad Ischl - Obertraun) runs directly to the region.
