There is little noise from the boat itself, and at first it is difficult to see. Only the gentle lapping of the waves on Lake Hallstatt tell that St Nicholas is on his way.

It is a very special moment when he comes into view in his typical wooden boat –  known as „der Fuhre“ – on the lake, especially for the children. He is accompanied by „Knecht Ruprecht“ and carries a large sack crammed full of apples, nuts and chocolate. 
St Nicholas loves listening to all the poems as they are read aloud, and all too soon he disappears again across the lake, just as quietly as he arrived. It will be another year til we see him again. St Nicholas is coming this year on the 01 st Advent weekend!
