The east bank hiking trail leads from Bad Goisern to Obertraun past Hallstatt train station, from where you can take a boat trip to Hallstatt.

 

In theory, it is possible to cycle around Lake Hallstatt. The east bank biking trail leads from Bad Goisern to Obertraun, after that you have to cycle on the road. We do not recommend this section of the road, as there is a lot of traffic on the road between Obertraun, Hallstatt and Bad Goisern, little visibility and rather narrow. Instead, you can take the east bank biking trail back again or extend the route via Bad Aussee.
