From the history

On the way to Hohen Kalmberg you will get some exciting impressions of the history of the region - especially the religious history. In the Kalmoos Church, a church in a cave discovered on the way to the summit, the Protestants of the region secretly practised their faith during the Counter-Reformation. The people of Gosau ("Gosauer") as well as the inhabitants of Bad Goisern ("Goiserer") had to accept a march of more than 2 hours to follow their faith.

"Thousands of prayers, despair, hope and unshakable creeds have colored the patina of these cave walls..."
